Balanced Growth Leadership Merges with Dynamic Directions

Owensboro, KY (January 23, 2023) – Balanced Growth Leadership (BGL), a coaching firm headquartered in Dubuque, IA, has merged with Dynamic Directions (D2), a firm headquartered in Owensboro, KY, that offers coaching and consulting for entrepreneurial financial advisors.

BGL has been affiliated with D2 since 2018 and is run by Scott Leibfried and Nancy Ainsworth. Leibfried (right) is becoming an owner of Dynamic Directions, and Leibfried and Ainsworth will continue to serve as coaches for D2 clients.

“We’re excited to have Balanced Growth Leadership join us,” said D2 CEO Travis Chaney. “Scott and Nancy are a great cultural fit – our values and philosophies really line up, and D2 will be a better place with them on board.”

Over the last couple of years, BGL has been introducing their clients, who are located throughout the upper Midwest, to various D2 services. With the merger, BGL clients will have access to the full range of D2 expert coaches and resources, such as tools, videos, online courses, and digital marketing services designed to help them grow. “We felt like the natural next step was a full merger to fold everything into Dynamic Directions,” Chaney said.

“For Nancy and me, from a business perspective and for our coaching clients, there was no way we could get to the trajectory of scale and depth D2 has,” Leibfried said. “We’ll be able to bring to the table much more than just the two of us could bring ourselves.”

Leibfried is also a Barron’s Top 1,200 Advisor who has been a coaching client of D2 since 2009. In that time, he has grown his firm, Stackstone Wealth, from $856,000 in GDC to more than $8.5M in GDC. He joins Chaney and Drew Watson, CEO of Align Wealth Management in Owensboro and also a Barron’s Top 1,200 advisor, as owners of D2.

“Scott passes all the tests of ownership with flying colors,” Chaney said. “He’s positive, action-oriented, and results-driven, and has a tremendous track record of leading his practice. We share very similar values.”

The mission of Dynamic Directions is to build an extraordinary life and practice for financial advisors. “Our goal is always to expand our footprint,” Chaney said, “but it’s based on quality. We’re inheriting two great coaches and a lot of great practices who are a very good representation of who we are and what we stand for.”

“I’m a believer in scale,” Leibfried said, “and if we don’t scale responsibly, we become irrelevant over time. This is the next right step for all of us.”
