A Christmas tree with a few years of the Ronald McDonald House ornaments.

When it comes to Christmas in Chattanooga, Jimmy Scotchie has found a way to support his favorite charity and delight his clients all at the same time.

Jimmy, a PWA and CEO of Oracle Wealth Management, has been involved with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga for years. Every holiday season, the charity, which provides free housing for family members of kids in nearby Chattanooga hospitals, creates a themed ornament and sells it as a fundraiser.

To support the fundraising effort each year, Jimmy makes a bulk donation and receives about 350 ornaments to send to his clients as a Christmas gift, along with a postcard note explaining Oracle’s partnership with Ronald McDonald House.

Operations Manager Paige Schober said they’ve been building this tradition for the past 5-10 years. Clients look forward to adding each year’s ornament to their collection, even sometimes calling the office to ask when the ornaments will arrive. They also send in photos of the ornaments on their trees.

Schober said the clients like the personalized nature of the gift as they see Oracle supporting a good cause. The company also sponsors a hole at the Ronald McDonald golf fundraiser each year, team members occasionally go to the house to cook dinner for the residents, and Jimmy has even served as chairman of the board.

He has even built his connections with Ronald McDonald house into a niche, serving many clients who also support the charity.

Ronald McDonald House is also grateful for the support. One year, they considered skipping the ornament fundraiser, but they knew Oracle would be placing a large order, so they went ahead and created a new ornament.
